The properties that matter for speech-language pathologists
Type: MedicalBusiness. Every property below is a real schema.org property.
| Property | Why it matters |
|---|---|
knowsAbout | Parents search for the concern, like stuttering or a late talker. Naming those helps search tools connect your clinic to the question. |
knowsLanguage | Assessment in the child’s home language matters clinically. It’s a real reason families choose a clinic. |
areaServed | If you see clients in schools, daycares or at home, list the communities you travel to. |
description | Say who you see, children, adults or both, in the first sentence. It shapes which searches you’re a fit for. |
Common mistakes
Using EducationalOrganization because much of the work is with children. MedicalBusiness reflects that it’s a regulated health service.
Listing every SLP as a separate business. The clinic is the business. Clinicians go on bio pages.
Leaving out virtual therapy. If you offer it, say so on the page and widen areaServed.
How to add it to your site
- Replace every example value in the form with your own details. They should match your Google Business Profile exactly.
- Copy the code and paste it into your page’s
<head>. Most site builders have a custom code field. On a hand-built site, it goes in the template. - Test the live page with Google’s Rich Results Test and validator.schema.org, and fix anything they flag.
- Add the same facts to the visible page. Structured data should describe what visitors can see. My website checklist for speech-language pathologists covers the rest.
Schema for speech-language pathologists: questions
Not a business type. Speech-language pathology fits MedicalBusiness, with the specifics in knowsAbout and the description.
Describe them on the page in plain words. There isn’t a clean schema property for funding eligibility, so I don’t force one.
You can add Service markup on individual service pages if you want. The business schema in the head stays the same on every page.
