Schema markup generator for occupational therapists
Occupational therapy practices should use MedicalBusiness, the LocalBusiness subtype for health practices. Fill in the form and I’ll build valid JSON-LD you can paste into your site’s head.

The properties that matter for occupational therapists
Type: MedicalBusiness. Every property below is a real schema.org property.
| Property | Why it matters |
|---|---|
areaServed | Most OT happens in homes and workplaces. Listing the communities you travel to matters more than a street address. |
knowsAbout | OT is broad. Home safety, return to work and paediatrics are different searches from different people. Be specific. |
paymentAccepted | WCB and insurer-funded files are a big part of OT. Saying you work with them helps case managers find you. |
description | Many people don’t know what OT covers. One clear sentence on who you help is useful to people and machines. |
Common mistakes
Using the Physiotherapy type because it feels close. It’s a different profession. MedicalBusiness is accurate.
Listing a home office address for a mobile practice. Leave it out and use areaServed.
Writing a vague description like “helping you live your best life”. Search tools can’t do much with that.
How to add it to your site
- Replace every example value in the form with your own details. They should match your Google Business Profile exactly.
- Copy the code and paste it into your page’s
<head>. Most site builders have a custom code field. On a hand-built site, it goes in the template. - Test the live page with Google’s Rich Results Test and validator.schema.org, and fix anything they flag.
- Add the same facts to the visible page. Structured data should describe what visitors can see. My website checklist for occupational therapists covers the rest.
Schema for occupational therapists: questions
MedicalBusiness. There’s no occupational therapy business type, so I describe the services in knowsAbout and the description.
Case managers search too, and AI tools are increasingly how people shortlist. Clear markup helps them understand what you do and where.
It’s optional. If you add one, use the code from your own business registration rather than a guess.
