Website checklist for occupational therapists
A good occupational therapy website explains what an OT actually does for someone in your situation, since most people aren't sure. This checklist covers that and everything else I check on every OT practice site.

What a practice website must get right first
Occupational therapy covers a wide range, from kids' sensory needs to return-to-work and home safety. The site has to sort visitors quickly by who they are and who's paying, whether that's family, an insurer or an employer. Clear service pages and a referral path for case managers matter most.
How to use this checklist
29 checks in 7 groups.
Open your website in another tab and go group by group.
Tick an item only when you have checked it on the live site, on a phone as well as a computer.
Start with content and conversion.
Those groups are the most specific to occupational therapists, and they are where most enquiries are won or lost.
Leave technical and AI search items for last.
They matter, but they are easier to fix in one pass, and the free tools linked below help with most of them.

A note on compliance
Your website can count as advertising under the rules that apply to occupational therapists. The compliance items here are prompts to check, not legal advice. Rules differ by province and change over time, so read the current standards from your regulator or licensing body before you publish testimonials, comparisons, prices or outcome claims.
Occupational therapists websites: questions
Usually two audiences: families looking for help, and case managers or lawyers making referrals. They need different paths. I build one for each so neither has to dig.
Yes, in a sentence or two with real examples. Many people don't know what OT covers, and they won't read further if they can't see themselves in it.
Through a form with the fields a funder referral needs, like claim number and funder, plus a secure way to send documents. That saves you a round of follow-up emails.
