Website checklist for dentists
A good dental website answers three things fast: are you taking new patients, do you direct bill, and can I book tonight. This checklist covers that and everything else I check on every clinic site.

What a dental clinic website must get right first
Dental searches are urgent or practical. Someone has a toothache, just moved, or wants a cleaning before their benefits reset. The site needs an emergency path, a clear new-patient path, and a page for each treatment people actually search for.
How to use this checklist
29 checks in 7 groups.
Open your website in another tab and go group by group.
Tick an item only when you have checked it on the live site, on a phone as well as a computer.
Start with content and conversion.
Those groups are the most specific to dentists, and they are where most enquiries are won or lost.
Leave technical and AI search items for last.
They matter, but they are easier to fix in one pass, and the free tools linked below help with most of them.

A note on compliance
Your website can count as advertising under the rules that apply to dentists. The compliance items here are prompts to check, not legal advice. Rules differ by province and change over time, so read the current standards from your regulator or licensing body before you publish testimonials, comparisons, prices or outcome claims.
Dentists websites: questions
Yes. People with a toothache search for emergency dentist, not your clinic name. A dedicated page with same-day hours and a phone button catches those searches when it matters most.
List the ones people search for and the ones you want more of. Implants, Invisalign and crowns each deserve a page. Minor services can sit together on one page.
Check your college's advertising standards first. Rules on patient images and testimonials are strict in many provinces. If allowed, get written consent and keep the photos unedited.
