Website checklist for orthodontists
A good orthodontic website helps parents and adults decide whether to book a consult, which means explaining treatment options, timelines and how payment works. This checklist covers that and everything else I check on every orthodontic site.

What an orthodontic practice website must get right first
Orthodontics is a considered decision that often involves two parents and a teenager. The site has to compare braces and aligners honestly, explain the consultation, and make payment plans clear. Referrals from general dentists matter too, so give them an easy path.
How to use this checklist
29 checks in 7 groups.
Open your website in another tab and go group by group.
Tick an item only when you have checked it on the live site, on a phone as well as a computer.
Start with content and conversion.
Those groups are the most specific to orthodontists, and they are where most enquiries are won or lost.
Leave technical and AI search items for last.
They matter, but they are easier to fix in one pass, and the free tools linked below help with most of them.

A note on compliance
Your website can count as advertising under the rules that apply to orthodontists. The compliance items here are prompts to check, not legal advice. Rules differ by province and change over time, so read the current standards from your regulator or licensing body before you publish testimonials, comparisons, prices or outcome claims.
Orthodontists websites: questions
It sells one considered decision instead of many routine visits. The site needs a strong consult path, an honest options comparison and clear payment plans. Emergency and hygiene pages matter far less.
People search for it by name, so a page that mentions it helps. Explain it alongside your other aligner and braces options so it reads as advice, not an ad.
A short page with a referral form, what you'll send back, and a direct line goes a long way. It makes you the easy choice for busy general practices.
