Schema markup generator for photographers

Photographers don’t have a dedicated schema.org type, so ProfessionalService is a sound choice. Fill in the form and I’ll build valid JSON-LD you can paste into your site.

Key schema properties for photographers
PropertyWhy it matters
knowsAboutHeadshots, families and brand shoots are separate searches. Listing them helps AI tools recommend you for the right job.
imageUse one of your best images. It shows your style instantly.
areaServedYou often shoot on location. Name the city and the mountain towns you travel to.
priceRangeSession cost is a top question. A simple range sets expectations.
sameAsInstagram is often your real portfolio. Link it so your identity is connected.

Common mistakes

  • Publishing a home address for a home-based studio you don’t want visited. Leave the street out and use areaServed.

  • Marking up every gallery image with business schema. The business markup goes on one main page.

  • Using Person when you run a business with a brand name. ProfessionalService fits a studio better.

How to add it to your site

  1. Replace every example value in the form with your own details. They should match your Google Business Profile exactly.
  2. Copy the code and paste it into your page’s <head>. Most site builders have a custom code field. On a hand-built site, it goes in the template.
  3. Test the live page with Google’s Rich Results Test and validator.schema.org, and fix anything they flag.
  4. Add the same facts to the visible page. Structured data should describe what visitors can see. My website checklist for photographers covers the rest.
FAQ

Schema for photographers: questions

  1. No. ProfessionalService is a reasonable fit for a photography business. A solo photographer known by name can also use Person.

  2. Image search leans on alt text, file names and the page around each photo. Schema helps search engines understand the business behind them.

  3. Only if clients visit. If you shoot on location, leave the street out and use areaServed.
