Schema markup generator for boutiques and retail shops
Boutiques should use the Store type, or a more specific store type if one fits what you sell. Fill in the form and I’ll build valid JSON-LD you can paste into your site.

The properties that matter for boutiques and retail shops
Type: Store. Every property below is a real schema.org property.
| Property | Why it matters |
|---|---|
address | A boutique is a place to visit. A full, accurate address is the most important detail. |
openingHours | People check hours before they head out. Update them for holidays and seasonal changes. |
knowsAbout | Store is a broad type. Listing what you carry tells search engines and AI tools what kind of shop you are. |
hasMap | A map link helps people find a shop on a busy street. |
image | A storefront or interior photo helps people recognise the shop when they arrive. |
Common mistakes
Using Store when a more specific type fits, like GiftShop, HomeGoodsStore or ClothingStore. Pick the one that matches most of what you sell.
Forgetting to update hours for holidays. Wrong hours are one of the most common complaints about local businesses.
Adding a sale or event to the store markup. Sales change; keep the store markup to stable facts.
How to add it to your site
- Replace every example value in the form with your own details. They should match your Google Business Profile exactly.
- Copy the code and paste it into your page’s
<head>. Most site builders have a custom code field. On a hand-built site, it goes in the template. - Test the live page with Google’s Rich Results Test and validator.schema.org, and fix anything they flag.
- Add the same facts to the visible page. Structured data should describe what visitors can see. My website checklist for boutiques and retail shops covers the rest.
Schema for boutiques and retail shops: questions
If most of what you sell fits a specific type, like ClothingStore or GiftShop, use that. Store is a fine choice for a mixed boutique.
Product pages need their own Product markup to show price and availability. This generator covers the shop as a place.
Yes, on its own page with Event markup. Keep it separate from the store’s permanent details.
