The properties that matter for day spas
Type: DaySpa. Every property below is a real schema.org property.
| Property | Why it matters |
|---|---|
knowsAbout | Massage, facials and body treatments are separate searches. Naming them helps AI tools match you to what people want. |
paymentAccepted | Direct billing for registered massage is a deciding factor for many guests. Say if you offer it. |
openingHours | Evening and weekend hours matter for spa bookings. Keep them accurate. |
priceRange | A range helps guests know what to expect before booking. |
image | A calm photo of your space sets the tone better than a logo. |
Common mistakes
Using HealthClub or MedicalBusiness for a day spa. DaySpa is the specific type for this.
Putting gift card promotions in the description. Promotions change; keep the markup stable.
Marking up testimonials as review stars. Google won’t show self-serving review stars for a LocalBusiness.
How to add it to your site
- Replace every example value in the form with your own details. They should match your Google Business Profile exactly.
- Copy the code and paste it into your page’s
<head>. Most site builders have a custom code field. On a hand-built site, it goes in the template. - Test the live page with Google’s Rich Results Test and validator.schema.org, and fix anything they flag.
- Add the same facts to the visible page. Structured data should describe what visitors can see. My website checklist for day spas covers the rest.
Schema for day spas: questions
Yes. DaySpa is a subtype of HealthAndBeautyBusiness, which is a LocalBusiness. It is the right fit for spas.
If you are mainly a spa, DaySpa is right. A clinic focused on therapy might fit a medical type better. Pick what describes most of your business.
Add gift cards to paymentAccepted if guests can pay with them. Selling gift cards online is better handled on its own page.
