Schema markup generator for dietitians
Dietitian practices should use MedicalBusiness, the LocalBusiness subtype for health practices. Fill in the form and I’ll build valid JSON-LD you can paste into your site’s head.

The properties that matter for dietitians
Type: MedicalBusiness. Every property below is a real schema.org property.
| Property | Why it matters |
|---|---|
description | “Registered dietitian” is a protected title. Say it plainly. It separates you from unregulated nutrition coaches. |
knowsAbout | Diabetes, IBS and sports nutrition are separate searches. Listing your real areas helps search tools match you. |
areaServed | Most dietitians see clients virtually. List Alberta or the provinces you’re licensed in so search tools know your reach. |
address | If you’re fully virtual, leave out the street address. Don’t list a home address you wouldn’t want public. |
Common mistakes
Using ProfessionalService. Dietetics is a regulated health profession, and MedicalBusiness says so.
Listing a home address because the form asked for one. Leave it out and rely on areaServed.
Marking up client success stories as reviews. Self-serving review markup isn’t eligible for review stars in Google.
How to add it to your site
- Replace every example value in the form with your own details. They should match your Google Business Profile exactly.
- Copy the code and paste it into your page’s
<head>. Most site builders have a custom code field. On a hand-built site, it goes in the template. - Test the live page with Google’s Rich Results Test and validator.schema.org, and fix anything they flag.
- Add the same facts to the visible page. Structured data should describe what visitors can see. My website checklist for dietitians covers the rest.
Schema for dietitians: questions
MedicalBusiness still works without a street address. Leave the address out and use areaServed for the provinces you serve.
Only if a page sells a specific program with a clear price. Otherwise I keep programs as visible content and leave the business schema simple.
Say it in the description and on the page. For a solo practice, a Person block on your about page with jobTitle “Registered Dietitian” is a good addition.
