What a salon website must get right first

Salon clients choose a stylist as much as a salon. They want to see each stylist’s work, know what services cost at each level, and book without calling. I start with stylist profiles, a clear service menu with timing, and online booking that goes straight to the right person.

How to use this checklist

28 checks in 6 groups.

  1. Open your website in another tab and go group by group.

Tick an item only when you have checked it on the live site, on a phone as well as a computer.

  2. Start with content and conversion.

Those groups are the most specific to hair salons, and they are where most enquiries are won or lost.

  3. Leave technical and AI search items for last.

They matter, but they are easier to fix in one pass, and the free tools linked below help with most of them.

  4. Your ticks are saved in this browser.

Come back any time. Print it if you want to work through it with your team.

FAQ

Hair salons websites: questions

  1. Yes. Clients want to know what to expect, especially for colour. Show starting prices or ranges by stylist level and note when a consultation sets the final price.

  2. Yes. Clients often search for a stylist by name or specialty. A profile with their own work helps people choose and keeps bookings flowing to the right chair.

  3. State the cancellation and deposit policy clearly before booking, and send confirmations and reminders through your booking system. Clear policies prevent most disputes.
