What a renovation company website must get right first

Homeowners worry about living through a renovation and about being left with half-finished work. They want to see before-and-after results, understand how you manage a job inside an occupied home, and know you are insured. I start there, and make the quote request easy.

How to use this checklist

28 checks in 6 groups.

  1. Open your website in another tab and go group by group.

Tick an item only when you have checked it on the live site, on a phone as well as a computer.

  2. Start with content and conversion.

Those groups are the most specific to renovation contractors, and they are where most enquiries are won or lost.

  3. Leave technical and AI search items for last.

They matter, but they are easier to fix in one pass, and the free tools linked below help with most of them.

  4. Your ticks are saved in this browser.

Come back any time. Print it if you want to work through it with your team.

FAQ

Renovation contractors websites: questions

  1. Project type, rough size, timeline, budget range, address area and a few photos. That is enough to know whether it is a fit before a site visit. Anything more and people abandon the form.

  2. They are one of the most persuasive things a renovation site can show. Same angle, same light where possible, and a short note on what changed. Phone photos are fine if they are sharp.

  3. I would explain ranges and what drives cost rather than publish fixed prices. Homeowners want to know whether you are in their budget, and a clear explanation answers that honestly.
