Website checklist for electricians

An electrician’s website has to show you are licensed, safe, and available for the job in front of the customer. This checklist covers services, permits and booking basics, then everything else I check.

What an electrical company website must get right first

Electrical work is regulated and can be dangerous, so trust comes first. Customers want to know you hold the right certificates, pull permits, and handle their kind of job, whether that is a panel upgrade or an EV charger. I start with clear credentials and specific service pages.

How to use this checklist

28 checks in 6 groups.

  1. Open your website in another tab and go group by group.

Tick an item only when you have checked it on the live site, on a phone as well as a computer.

  2. Start with content and conversion.

Those groups are the most specific to electricians, and they are where most enquiries are won or lost.

  3. Leave technical and AI search items for last.

They matter, but they are easier to fix in one pass, and the free tools linked below help with most of them.

  4. Your ticks are saved in this browser.

Come back any time. Print it if you want to work through it with your team.

FAQ

Electricians websites: questions

  1. I would show how pricing works, like service call fees and when you quote fixed prices, rather than a price list. Electrical jobs vary too much for a list to stay honest.

  2. Yes, if you install them. It is a common search with specific questions about panel capacity and permits, and a clear page answers them before the call.

  3. Name the certificate, who holds it and that you pull permits. Put it on the about page and near your contact details. Customers look for it, especially on larger jobs.
