Website checklist for custom home builders
A custom home builder’s website has to show the quality of finished homes and make the process feel safe before anyone calls. This checklist covers portfolio, process and warranty basics, then everything else I check.

What a building company website must get right first
Clients are making one of the largest purchases of their lives. They want to see finished homes in detail, understand how a build actually runs, and know who stands behind it. I start with a deep portfolio, a clear process page, and warranty and licensing shown plainly.
How to use this checklist
28 checks in 6 groups.
Open your website in another tab and go group by group.
Tick an item only when you have checked it on the live site, on a phone as well as a computer.
Start with content and conversion.
Those groups are the most specific to custom home builders, and they are where most enquiries are won or lost.
Leave technical and AI search items for last.
They matter, but they are easier to fix in one pass, and the free tools linked below help with most of them.

Custom home builders websites: questions
I usually do not publish fixed prices, because every lot and design is different. I do explain what drives cost and what a first conversation covers. That answers the real question without boxing you into a number.
Enough to show range, presented properly. A handful of homes with full pages, good photos and the story behind each one does more than a long grid of thumbnails.
If you build in several, yes. People search by community, and a page that shows homes you have actually built there is useful to them and to Google.
