An HVAC website has to handle no-heat emergencies in winter and planned installs the rest of the year. This checklist covers furnaces, cooling, maintenance plans and booking, then everything else I check.

What an HVAC company website must get right first

In a cold climate, a furnace failure is urgent. In summer, people research air conditioning and heat pumps at leisure. I start with a clear no-heat path, honest equipment pages, and a maintenance plan that keeps customers coming back.

How to use this checklist

28 checks in 6 groups.

  1. Open your website in another tab and go group by group.

Tick an item only when you have checked it on the live site, on a phone as well as a computer.

  2. Start with content and conversion.

Those groups are the most specific to HVAC companies, and they are where most enquiries are won or lost.

  3. Leave technical and AI search items for last.

They matter, but they are easier to fix in one pass, and the free tools linked below help with most of them.

  4. Your ticks are saved in this browser.

Come back any time. Print it if you want to work through it with your team.

FAQ

HVAC companies websites: questions

  1. Yes, but link to the official source and check it often. Programs change, and an out-of-date rebate claim damages trust. A short summary with a link is enough.

  2. Yes. It brings repeat business and gives customers a reason to come back to your site. Spell out what each visit includes and how booking works.

  3. If you install them, yes. People have specific questions about cold-weather performance and backup heat, and a dedicated page answers them better than a general cooling page.
