Web design for bookkeepers

I design and build websites for bookkeeping businesses that explain what monthly service includes and turn a behind-on-the-books visitor into a discovery call.

How clients choose

Many people looking for a bookkeeper are behind. They have a folder of receipts, an overdue GST filing or an accountant asking for clean books. They want to know whether you work in their software, whether you take on catch-up work and roughly what monthly service looks like. The site should make it feel fixable.

  • bookkeeper near me
  • bookkeeping services calgary
  • quickbooks bookkeeper calgary
  • catch up bookkeeping
  • xero bookkeeper
  • monthly bookkeeping small business
  • payroll services small business
  • help filing gst return

What people type before they choose. Each of these deserves a clear answer somewhere on your site, usually its own page.

Pages your site needs

The pages I plan for almost every bookkeeping business website, and why each one earns its place.

  1. Monthly bookkeeping

What is included each month, what the client sends and what they get back. Packages make the decision easier.

  2. Catch-up and clean-up

Its own page, because owners who are behind search for exactly this.

  3. Payroll and remittances

Pay runs, source deductions and year-end slips, if you offer them.

  4. Software we work in

QuickBooks Online, Xero and the receipt tools you use. Owners filter on this first.

  5. Working with your accountant

How you hand clean books to their CPA at year-end. It reassures both the owner and the accountant.

  6. About

Who you are and the kinds of businesses you enjoy working with.

What builds trust

The signals that move someone from browsing to choosing a bookkeeping business.

  • Software certifications

QuickBooks ProAdvisor or Xero certified advisor badges, where you hold them.

  • A clear monthly process

When you reconcile, when reports arrive and how questions are handled.

  • Secure document exchange

A named, secure method for receipts and statements, not email.

  • A real face

Many clients work with one person for years. Show who that is.

The conversion path

Primary action: Book a free discovery call.

Fallback: Send a short note about where your books stand.

The booking page asks three things: business type, software and how far behind they are. That lets you quote catch-up work on the call. The note option catches owners embarrassed about the state of their books who would rather write than talk.

Common mistakes

What I see most often when I review sites in this field.

  • Vague packages

"Customized solutions" leaves owners unable to picture the service or budget for it.

  • No software mentioned

An owner on Xero will leave if they cannot tell whether you use it.

  • Blurring bookkeeping and tax

Implying you prepare corporate tax returns or give tax advice when you do not causes trouble later.

  • No catch-up page

The most motivated buyers are behind. Without that page they never find you.

Features worth building

  • Package comparison

Two or three monthly tiers side by side, with your price ranges if you are comfortable sharing them.

  • Discovery call booking

Calendly with a few qualifying questions, so you can prepare.

  • Receipt tool links

Onboarding instructions for Dext or Hubdoc, edited from the CMS as your process changes.

FAQ

Websites for bookkeepers: common questions

  1. A starting price or range usually helps. Owners shopping for bookkeeping want to know whether you fit their budget before they call, and a range filters out the ones who do not. Tie it to clear package contents, such as transaction volume and number of accounts, so the number makes sense. Catch-up work can stay quoted per job.

  2. Only say what you actually do. If you file GST returns and payroll remittances, say that plainly. If corporate returns and tax planning go to an accountant, say you prepare clean books for their year-end. Being exact protects you, sets the client’s expectations and makes you an easy referral partner for local accountants.

  3. Rank for the searches owners make when they are stuck: catch-up bookkeeping, QuickBooks bookkeeper plus your city, help with GST filing. A focused page for each, plus a Google Business Profile with reviews from real clients, brings in owners who have never heard of you. Referrals still arrive, and the site closes them faster.

  4. Not a busy one. A handful of useful pages, such as how to prepare for year-end or what to send your bookkeeper each month, does more than weekly posts. They answer real questions, rank for long searches and give you links to send clients. Quality and accuracy matter more than frequency.
