The properties that matter for plumbing and heating companies
Type: Plumber. Every property below is a real schema.org property.
| Property | Why it matters |
|---|---|
telephone | Plumbing calls are often emergencies. Make sure the number in schema is the one that rings. |
openingHours | If you offer after-hours service, reflect that honestly. People filter by who is open now. |
areaServed | You travel to the customer. Name the areas you serve so search engines can match nearby searches. |
knowsAbout | Water heaters, drains and frozen pipes are distinct searches. Listing them helps AI tools match you to the problem. |
knowsLanguage | If you can serve customers in more than one language, it is a real reason to choose you. |
Common mistakes
Saying you are open 24/7 in openingHours when only an answering service is. Keep the hours true to when someone can actually help.
Publishing a home address as a service-area plumber. Leave the street out and use areaServed.
Adding aggregateRating copied from Google reviews. Google doesn’t show self-serving review stars for a LocalBusiness.
How to add it to your site
- Replace every example value in the form with your own details. They should match your Google Business Profile exactly.
- Copy the code and paste it into your page’s
<head>. Most site builders have a custom code field. On a hand-built site, it goes in the template. - Test the live page with Google’s Rich Results Test and validator.schema.org, and fix anything they flag.
- Add the same facts to the visible page. Structured data should describe what visitors can see. My website checklist for plumbing and heating companies covers the rest.
Schema for plumbing and heating companies: questions
Use openingHours of Mo-Su 00:00-23:59 only if someone really answers around the clock. Otherwise list your normal hours and explain emergency service on the page.
Yes. Plumber is a subtype of HomeAndConstructionBusiness. It is the right choice for plumbing companies.
List the main city and towns you serve. A long list of every community adds little. Your service area pages can go into detail.
