Schema markup generator for cafés and bakeries
Cafés should use the CafeOrCoffeeShop type, not plain Restaurant or LocalBusiness. Fill in the form and I’ll build valid JSON-LD you can paste into your site.

The properties that matter for cafés and bakeries
Type: CafeOrCoffeeShop. Every property below is a real schema.org property.
| Property | Why it matters |
|---|---|
openingHours | Café visits are spur of the moment. People check if you are open now, so hours matter most. |
address | A full, accurate address supports searches like coffee near me. |
servesCuisine | Pastries, brunch, specialty coffee: this tells AI tools what kind of café you are. |
hasMenu | A simple HTML menu page answers what you serve before someone walks over. |
image | A photo of your space or counter helps people recognise you. |
Common mistakes
Using Restaurant when CafeOrCoffeeShop exists. The specific type is clearer.
Setting acceptsReservations to true when you only take bookings for groups. Explain group bookings on the page.
Forgetting to update hours for winter or holidays. Wrong hours lose walk-in customers.
How to add it to your site
- Replace every example value in the form with your own details. They should match your Google Business Profile exactly.
- Copy the code and paste it into your page’s
<head>. Most site builders have a custom code field. On a hand-built site, it goes in the template. - Test the live page with Google’s Rich Results Test and validator.schema.org, and fix anything they flag.
- Add the same facts to the visible page. Structured data should describe what visitors can see. My website checklist for cafés and bakeries covers the rest.
Schema for cafés and bakeries: questions
Yes. It is a FoodEstablishment subtype made for cafés and coffee shops. It is the right fit here.
Keep the café markup as it is. If you sell beans online, those products can have their own Product markup on product pages.
It helps. Even a short HTML page listing drinks and food gives search engines and AI tools something real to read.
