The properties that matter for property management companies
Type: RealEstateAgent. Every property below is a real schema.org property.
| Property | Why it matters |
|---|---|
knowsAbout | Owners search for specific help, like tenant screening or condo rentals. Listing it helps AI tools match you to their question. |
areaServed | Name the city and communities where you manage properties. |
telephone | Owners want a real person. A clear number builds trust. |
openingHours | Show office hours. Explain emergency maintenance contact on the page, not in the hours. |
description | Say who you serve, owners, tenants or both. AI answers often reuse this line. |
Common mistakes
Listing a 24-hour maintenance line as your opening hours. Keep openingHours to office hours.
Adding every rental unit as part of the business markup. Vacancies belong on their own listing pages.
Mixing tenant reviews into self-serving review markup. Google won’t show those as stars for your own business.
How to add it to your site
- Replace every example value in the form with your own details. They should match your Google Business Profile exactly.
- Copy the code and paste it into your page’s
<head>. Most site builders have a custom code field. On a hand-built site, it goes in the template. - Test the live page with Google’s Rich Results Test and validator.schema.org, and fix anything they flag.
- Add the same facts to the visible page. Structured data should describe what visitors can see. My website checklist for property management companies covers the rest.
Schema for property management companies: questions
Schema.org doesn’t have a PropertyManager type. RealEstateAgent is the nearest specific type for firms that lease property. It is valid and clearer than plain LocalBusiness.
They can use a listing page with clear details. Google doesn’t show rich results for rental listings today, so the page content matters most.
No. sameAs is for profiles that represent your business, like social accounts. Link portals from your site instead.
