Web design for event venues

I design and build websites for event venues that answer the planning questions first, so the enquiries you get are for dates you have and events that fit.

How clients choose

Couples, planners and companies shortlist venues online before they ever visit. They want capacities, layouts, photos of real events, what is included and a sense of cost. Many will not enquire without that. The site has to give planners what they need to shortlist you, then capture date, guest count and event type in the enquiry.

  • wedding venues calgary
  • corporate event space calgary
  • private event space near me
  • small wedding venue
  • venue rental for party
  • outdoor wedding venue alberta

What people type before they choose. Each of these deserves a clear answer somewhere on your site, usually its own page.

Pages your site needs

The pages I plan for almost every venue website, and why each one earns its place.

  1. Spaces

Each room or area with capacity by layout, size, photos and a floor plan.

  2. Weddings

Ceremony and reception options, packages and what is included.

  3. Corporate and private events

Meetings, launches and holiday parties, with AV and catering details.

  4. Pricing guidance

Starting rental rates or food and beverage minimums by day and season.

  5. Catering and vendors

In-house catering, preferred vendor lists and what outside vendors can do.

  6. Book a tour

Site visits by appointment, with a calendar.

What builds trust

The signals that move someone from browsing to choosing a venue.

  • Real events photographed

Your spaces set for actual weddings and events, not empty rooms.

  • Accurate capacities

Seated, standing and theatre capacities that match your permits.

  • Floor plans

Downloadable layouts planners can use to plan seating and flow.

  • Policies stated

Noise curfews, decor rules, deposits and insurance requirements.

The conversion path

Primary action: Check a date and enquire.

Fallback: Book a venue tour.

The enquiry form leads with date, guest count and event type, so your team can reply with availability and a relevant proposal. A tour booking link follows for planners who are ready to visit.

Common mistakes

What I see most often when I review sites in this field.

  • No capacities

Planners skip venues that do not say how many people fit.

  • Empty room photos

Bare spaces leave people unable to picture their event.

  • Generic contact forms

A name and message box produces enquiries you have to chase for the basics.

Features worth building

  • Space comparison

Capacities, sizes and features side by side for multi-room venues.

  • Qualifying enquiry form

Date, guest count, event type and budget, routed to Tripleseat, Perfect Venue or your inbox.

  • Downloadable floor plans

Plans and packages as accessible PDFs for planners, alongside the web pages.

FAQ

Websites for event venues: common questions

  1. Yes, as starting rates or minimums by day and season. Planners shortlist on budget, and venues that hide pricing are often dropped from the list without an enquiry. A line such as "Saturday evenings from" with a clear note on what affects the final cost brings in better-matched enquiries and shortens the back-and-forth.

  2. Date and flexibility, guest count, event type, the space they are interested in and a budget range. That is enough for your team to reply with availability and a relevant package. Save detailed questions for the tour or proposal. A short, specific form gets completed and saves your coordinator from chasing basic details.

  3. Give each space its own page with capacities by layout, dimensions, a floor plan and photos of real events in that room. Planners need to picture their event, and empty rooms do not help. A short video walkthrough can also help out-of-town couples who cannot visit before shortlisting.

  4. Pages that match how people search. A dedicated weddings page naming your city or region, pages for each style of event you host, and real weddings tagged with your venue that photographers and planners link to. A Google Business Profile with event photos and accurate categories supports it locally.
