Web design in University District

I design and build websites for University District businesses that serve students, staff, hospital families and new residents. I meet clients in person.

Send me your site. I’ll look at it the way a local customer would and tell you what I’d change first. Coffee in the neighbourhood is on me if you want to talk it through.

The neighbourhood

University District is a newer mixed-use community on land next to the University of Calgary and Alberta Children's Hospital in the northwest. It blends condos and townhomes with a walkable retail main street, offices and clinics. Customers include residents, university staff and students, and families visiting the hospital.

How people find businesses here

Searches mix the district name with nearby anchors: "coffee university district", "dentist near u of c", "restaurant near children's hospital". Students search "near me" from campus.

Your Google Business Profile and a clear address block do most of the local work. The website gives Google something to confirm, and gives the person searching a reason to choose you over the place next door.

What your website should do

A University District site should speak to several audiences at once without clutter. I keep hours, booking and directions clear and add short notes for students and visiting families where useful, like student pricing or quiet spaces.

I’m based in Calgary, so we can meet in person, walk the space if it helps, and take photos that look like the real place.

FAQ

University District: common questions

  1. Write for each in a line or two, not separate sites. Students care about price, hours and proximity to campus. Residents care about quality and convenience. I make those details easy to scan and mention both in your Google profile and homepage.

  2. For directions, yes, if you are nearby. Families visiting the hospital often look for food, coffee or pharmacy services close by. A plain line about your distance from the hospital helps them. Avoid implying any affiliation you do not have.

  3. Yes. Residents, staff and students expect to book online at any hour. I integrate the tool you already use so patients can see availability and book in a few taps, and add a page explaining what to expect on a first visit.
