Web design for therapists and counsellors in Calgary
I design and build websites for therapists and counsellors in Calgary, planned around what local clients search and one clear action: book a free consultation call with a therapist.

Send me your site. I’ll look at it the way someone in Calgary would when choosing a practice, and tell you what I’d change first.
What Calgary clients search
Many counselling clients look within their own part of the city or search for online sessions in their province. A Google Business Profile with accurate hours and a page per office location carry most of the local weight. Calgarians search by quadrant and community: "dentist NW Calgary", "physio Kensington", "renovation company SW Calgary". The city is spread out, so most people only consider businesses on their side of the river or near their commute. A site that names the communities you actually serve, and a Google Business Profile that matches it, does more than generic city-wide copy.
- therapist calgary
- grief counselling calgary
- affordable counselling calgary
- counsellor near me
- therapist beltline
- grief counselling kensington
- affordable counselling inglewood
Areas that come up in Calgary searches: Beltline, Kensington, Inglewood, Marda Loop, Mission, Bridgeland, East Village and Seton.
Health in Calgary
Calgary has a dense mix of independent dental, physio, chiropractic, psychology and massage clinics, many in the Beltline, the inner city and the newer suburban centres. Patients choose by neighbourhood and by practitioner, so the site needs a page per clinician and online booking that actually works on a phone.
Calgary is home to many of Canada's energy head offices, and the city has spent the last decade broadening around them. Tech companies, logistics and distribution along the east side, agriculture business, finance and a deep bench of professional firms now sit alongside oil and gas. Tourism peaks every July with the Stampede, and the mountains an hour west shape how people here live and spend.
Rules for therapists and counsellors in Alberta
Counselling therapy is not yet a regulated profession in Alberta. In 2024 the province announced it would be regulated by the College of Alberta Psychologists, but that is not in effect yet, so check the current status. Alberta therapists may be registered psychologists or social workers, or hold an association certification, and each bio should name exactly what the person holds.
Alberta PIPA covers what your forms collect, and the Alberta Health Information Act may apply to health information. The full breakdown, from testimonials to titles, is on the therapists and counsellors in Alberta page. Rules change, so check your regulator’s current standard.
The pages that win the work
Counselling clients often need a softer first step than a full session. A free 15-minute call on each bio, booked online, does most of the work. A short message option catches people who would rather be matched by someone at the practice.
A bio per therapist
Credential, modalities, who they work with, and a voice that sounds like them. Fit is the whole decision.
Credentials and coverage
What designations like RSW, RCC, CCC and RP mean, which are licences and which are certifications, and that plan recognition varies.
Fees and sliding scale
Full rate, any reduced-fee spots, and how to ask for one without having to explain yourself on the phone.
Areas of focus
Grief, relationships, trauma, life transitions. Short pages in plain language, each pointing to the right therapists.
Getting started
How a first call works, what happens next and how long until a session. It turns hesitation into a booking.
Working together in Calgary
I'm based in Calgary, so we meet in person for the kickoff and the design review, at your office or over coffee. Everything in between happens on a shared preview link you can check on your phone.
I work with Calgary clinics, professional firms, builders and owner-run businesses that have outgrown a template site. Most need a site that looks as good as the work they do, explains it plainly and turns visits into booked calls.
I also work with therapists and counsellors nearby, in Balzac, De Winton, Priddis and Langdon.
Therapists and counsellors in Calgary: common questions
I'm based in Calgary, so we meet in person for the kickoff and the design review, at your office or over coffee. Everything in between happens on a shared preview link you can check on your phone. For a practice, the first meeting is usually about who your best clients are and what they need to see before they book a free consultation call with a therapist.
Searches like “therapist calgary”, “grief counselling calgary”, “affordable counselling calgary” and “counsellor near me”. Many counselling clients look within their own part of the city or search for online sessions in their province. A Google Business Profile with accurate hours and a page per office location carry most of the local weight. I plan the pages around those searches, so each one lands on a page that answers it.
Your provincial regulator’s advertising standard applies. Privacy falls under Alberta PIPA, or the Alberta Health Information Act if you are a custodian. Rules change, so we check the current standard together before launch.
Yes. Show the full rate and say that reduced-fee spots exist and how to ask for one. People who need a lower rate are often the least likely to call and ask. A clear, judgment-free sentence and a simple request option respects them and keeps those spots filled.
Write them in the first person, about the client rather than the therapist’s training history. Who do you work with, what does a session with you feel like, what do you believe about change. I interview each therapist briefly and shape the bio from that, keeping credentials in a short line underneath.
