Web design in East Village
I design and build websites for East Village businesses that need to be found by the people moving into the towers around them. I'm based in Calgary and meet in person.

Send me your site. I’ll look at it the way a local customer would and tell you what I’d change first. Coffee in the neighbourhood is on me if you want to talk it through.
The neighbourhood
East Village is a redeveloped riverfront district on the east edge of downtown, near where the Bow and Elbow rivers meet. It mixes new condo towers with cultural anchors like the Central Library and the National Music Centre at Studio Bell, and the RiverWalk pathway runs along its edge. Ground-floor businesses serve residents, visitors and people walking between downtown and Inglewood.

How people find businesses here
Residents search on foot: "coffee east village", "dentist near me", "dog groomer east village". Visitors pair searches with the landmark they are at, such as "lunch near central library" or "restaurant near studio bell".
Your Google Business Profile and a clear address block do most of the local work. The website gives Google something to confirm, and gives the person searching a reason to choose you over the place next door.
What your website should do
Many East Village customers are new to the neighbourhood and still finding their places. A site here should introduce you plainly, show the storefront so people recognize it, and make the first visit easy with hours, booking and how to find you relative to the library or the river.
I’m based in Calgary, so we can meet in person, walk the space if it helps, and take photos that look like the real place.
East Village: common questions
Show up where they search first, which is Google Maps and "near me" results on a phone. A fast site with a clear address, accurate hours and a Google Business Profile that matches it does most of the work. I also write a short neighbourhood line on the homepage so new residents recognize you as the local option.
Yes, in a natural way. People often search with the landmark they are standing beside, like the Central Library or Studio Bell, and visitors use them to orient. A line such as "across from the library" in your directions helps people find the door and helps search engines connect you to those searches.
Some do, from concerts, library events and festivals along the river. If your business benefits from those nights, I can add a simple events or hours notice you edit yourself, so people know you are open late or offering something special. It keeps the site current without needing a developer each time.
