HubSpot CMS vs Webflow
If your team runs on HubSpot and wants forms, pages and reporting in one place, HubSpot CMS is the more coherent choice. If design quality and a flexible structured CMS matter most, and your CRM could be anything, Webflow tends in my experience to produce leaner pages with more design control. Plenty of teams use Webflow for the site and HubSpot for the CRM.

Side by side
Ratings are my own assessment for a typical small business, as of October 2026. Platforms change their features and plans often, so check the vendor’s current documentation before you decide.
| HubSpot CMS | Webflow | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | A CMS wired into HubSpot’s CRM, for teams already living in HubSpot. | A visual tool that writes real HTML and CSS, for people who think like developers. |
| Ownership and portability | PartialContent exports; templates are HubSpot-only. | PartialCode export on paid Workspace plans; CMS content exports only as CSV. |
| SEO control | StrongSolid controls and guidance. | ExtensiveFine-grained control over tags, redirects and markup. |
| AI-search readiness | GoodServer-rendered pages; schema through modules or code. | GoodServer-rendered HTML; schema via custom code. |
| Performance | GoodGood hosting; marketing scripts can add weight. | GoodGenerally good; heavy interactions can cost speed. |
| Design freedom | FlexibleCustom themes possible with a developer. | UnlimitedClose to hand-built freedom for a skilled designer. |
| E-commerce | BasicPayment links and quotes, not a full online store. | BasicWorks for small catalogues; fewer advanced commerce features than a dedicated platform. |
| Maintenance burden | MinimalManaged. | MinimalHosting and updates managed. |
| Learning curve | ModerateThe HubSpot ecosystem takes time to learn. | SteepThink of it as learning web design. |
| Pricing model | Tiered subscription, often bundled with other HubSpot hubs; costs scale with tier and seats. | Per-site hosting plans plus workspace seats; CMS item counts and features scale by plan. |
| Day-to-day editing | HubSpot’s drag-and-drop page editor. | The Webflow Editor for content, the Designer for layout. |
Which one suits you
Choose HubSpot CMS if…
- marketing and sales already share HubSpot and you want one login
- smart content and native lead attribution matter to your reporting
- your developers are comfortable with HubSpot themes and modules
Choose Webflow if…
- a designer wants close to hand-built control without hand-coding
- you need flexible CMS collections for case studies, resources or a directory
- you want lean pages without a heavy marketing script stack on every visit
The difference that matters most
Integration against design control. HubSpot’s pages, forms and CRM share one database, so a visit to your pricing page can trigger a sales task. In my view Webflow is the stronger design tool, with clean output and structured collections, but connecting it to a CRM means embedded forms or integrations.
A Calgary SaaS startup with a strong designer and a CRM still in flux would likely be happier on Webflow. A 40-person engineering consultancy already paying for HubSpot’s sales tools would get more from keeping the site there. Watch page speed on HubSpot, where tracking scripts add weight.
Where each one leads
Counted from my ratings in the table above.
HubSpot CMS leads on learning curve.
Webflow leads on seo control and design freedom.
Best fit for HubSpot CMS: companies already invested in HubSpot’s CRM. Best fit for Webflow: marketing teams with a designer who knows web layout.
Switching between them
Neither exports a template the other can use. Moving from HubSpot to Webflow means rebuilding the design in Webflow’s Designer and importing blog content into CMS collections via CSV; HubSpot forms can stay embedded if you keep the CRM. Going the other way, Webflow exports code on paid Workspace plans and CMS CSVs, which a developer turns into HubSpot templates. Map every old URL with 301 redirects.
HubSpot CMS vs Webflow, answered
Yes. You can embed HubSpot forms and tracking code in Webflow, so leads still flow into the CRM. You lose some native features, like smart content tied to contact records.
HubSpot’s drag-and-drop editor is friendlier for marketers who build landing pages often. Webflow’s Editor is simple for changing copy and CMS items, but new layouts go back to whoever knows the Designer.
Webflow gives you more SEO control. HubSpot CMS: Solid controls and guidance. Webflow: Fine-grained control over tags, redirects and markup.
HubSpot CMS (partial): Pages and blog posts export as HTML; templates only run on HubSpot, so the design is rebuilt. Webflow (partial): HTML, CSS and JavaScript on paid Workspace plans; CMS collections as CSV.
