Duda vs Wix
Wix is the better choice for an owner who wants to build and edit their own site, with bookings and stores built in. Duda is better if you want an agency to handle it all and you value speed defaults over doing it yourself. Neither lets you take an editable site with you.

Side by side
Ratings are my own assessment for a typical small business, as of October 2026. Platforms change their features and plans often, so check the vendor’s current documentation before you decide.
| Duda | Wix | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | A white-label builder agencies use to build and manage client sites. | The all-in-one drag-and-drop builder with an app for everything. |
| Ownership and portability | Platform-onlyThe site usually lives in the agency’s account; its export is a static copy. | Platform-onlyYour content is yours, and some data exports as CSV, but the site itself can’t leave Wix. |
| SEO control | StrongGood controls, including schema for local businesses. | StrongTitles, redirects, robots.txt and custom structured data are all editable. |
| AI-search readiness | MixedDecent structure; content quality depends on the agency. | GoodPages are server-rendered and some page types get structured data automatically; custom markup is possible. |
| Performance | GoodA stated focus of the platform. | VariesMuch improved, though in my testing mobile pages often carry more script than lean sites. |
| Design freedom | LimitedFlexible for a builder, still a builder. | FlexibleFreeform canvas; Wix Studio adds more responsive control. |
| E-commerce | BasicAvailable, not its strength. | GoodGood for small catalogues and bookings. |
| Maintenance burden | MinimalThe agency handles it. | MinimalWix handles hosting, updates and security. |
| Learning curve | GentleBuilt for professionals, not owners. | EasyDrag, drop, publish. |
| Pricing model | Agencies pay Duda; you usually pay the agency a monthly fee that includes the site. | Monthly or yearly subscription. Paid plans remove Wix ads and connect your domain; some apps add their own fees. |
| Day-to-day editing | Usually by the agency; clients may get a simplified editor. | The Wix editor in the browser, or the Wix app on a phone. |
Which one suits you
Choose Duda if…
- you want a professional to manage the site for a monthly fee
- page speed and local business schema matter to you out of the box
- you never want to open a website editor
Choose Wix if…
- you want to edit and publish changes yourself
- you need bookings, a store or a members area without a developer
- you’re early and want to test ideas quickly
The difference that matters most
These two are built for different people. Wix is built for owners: drag, drop, publish, add an app. Duda is built for agencies, who give owners a simplified view at best.
A salon owner who likes changing her promotions herself will feel boxed in on an agency-run Duda site. An electrician who never wants to think about it will be glad someone else holds the keys, as long as he has the domain in his own name.
Where each one leads
Counted from my ratings in the table above.
Duda leads on performance.
Wix leads on ai-search readiness, design freedom, e-commerce and learning curve.
Best fit for Duda: businesses whose agency manages the site end to end. Best fit for Wix: owners who want to build and edit a site themselves, quickly.
Switching between them
Neither exports an editable site. Wix exports some data as CSV; Duda can export a static copy from the agency’s account. Plan to rebuild either way, list every URL, and redirect them on the new platform before switching DNS.
Duda vs Wix, answered
Duda puts more emphasis on performance defaults. Wix has improved a lot; in my experience its pages still tend to carry more script.
Not automatically. An agency would rebuild it on Duda using your content.
They’re roughly level on SEO control. Duda: Good controls, including schema for local businesses. Wix: Titles, redirects, robots.txt and custom structured data are all editable.
Duda (platform-only): Account owners or staff can export a static copy (HTML, CSS and images); forms and other dynamic features stop working. Ask your agency what you’d get before you sign. Wix (platform-only): Contacts, store products and CMS collections export as CSV; blog posts usually move with a migration tool or by hand. The design and pages have to be rebuilt.
