Lost leads calculator
This calculator shows what your website’s conversion rate is worth. Enter your own traffic, enquiry rate, close rate and average client value, pick a better rate, and it shows the extra enquiries and revenue in plain maths. The result is an estimate built only from the numbers you enter.
At 2% instead of 1%
Today: 2,000 visitors × 1% = 20 enquiries × 30% close = 6 clients × $3,000 = $18,000 a month.
An estimate from the numbers you entered, not a forecast or a promise of results.
| Enquiry rate | Enquiries / mo | Clients / mo | Revenue / mo | Revenue / yr |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1% | 20 | 6 | $18,000 | $216,000 |
| 1.5% | 30 | 9 | $27,000 | $324,000 |
| 2% | 40 | 12 | $36,000 | $432,000 |
| 3% | 60 | 18 | $54,000 | $648,000 |
Want me to find where your site loses enquiries?
Send me your website and I’ll record a short, honest walkthrough of what I’d change first. Free.
How to use it
Enter your monthly website visitors. Your analytics tool shows this as users or visitors.
Enter the share of visitors who enquire today. Enquiries divided by visitors, times 100.
Enter how many enquiries become clients, and what an average client is worth to you.
Choose a target rate and compare. Every number is shown with the formula behind it.
Why it matters
A website rarely fails loudly. It fails quietly, one visitor at a time, when someone can’t find the phone number, doesn’t trust what they see or can’t tell if you serve their area. Those visitors don’t complain. They just call someone else.
The maths is simple: visitors × conversion rate × close rate × client value. Small changes to the conversion rate move the result more than most people expect, because nothing else in the chain has to change.
I don’t include industry benchmarks here on purpose. Published averages mix very different businesses, and the only numbers that matter are yours. If you don’t know your conversion rate yet, that is the first thing worth fixing.
Good to know
Use a full month
A single week can swing with holidays or a campaign. A normal month is a better baseline.
Count real enquiries
Form fills, calls from the site and booking requests. Leave out spam and job applications.
Client value means lifetime
If a client books five times a year for three years, that is the value to enter, not one visit.
Lost leads calculator: questions
It depends heavily on the industry, the offer and where the traffic comes from, so I don’t quote a single number. The useful comparison is your site against itself: measure today, improve the page, measure again.
Divide the enquiries your site produced in a month by the visitors it had in that month, then multiply by 100. Google Analytics can track form submissions and phone clicks as key events, which makes this much easier.
No. Everything is calculated in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere unless you ask me to look at your site.
Clearer first screens, a visible phone number and booking button, real photos, proof that you serve the visitor’s area and faster pages on mobile. Which one matters most depends on the site, which is why I look before I suggest anything.
