Hostinger Website Builder vs Squarespace
Squarespace is the better fit for a business whose image matters: its templates look considered and its tools run deeper. Hostinger is the budget option, good for a side project or a simple site that rarely changes. Neither lets you take the design with you.

Side by side
Ratings are my own assessment for a typical small business, as of October 2026. Platforms change their features and plans often, so check the vendor’s current documentation before you decide.

Which one suits you
Choose Hostinger Website Builder if…
- budget is the deciding factor and you’re fine prepaying a longer term
- an AI-generated starting point helps you get past the blank page
- you want email hosting bundled in
Choose Squarespace if…
- the site has to look polished without hiring a designer
- you want built-in scheduling, a store or email campaigns
- you prefer an editor that makes it hard to break a layout
The difference that matters most
Finish quality is the gap. Hostinger’s AI gives you a fast start, but generated copy tends to read like every other generated site and the grid editor offers modest design depth. Squarespace starts from carefully designed templates, so a photographer or interior designer can get a professional-looking site with good photos and their own words.
On price, compare honestly. Hostinger’s first-term rate is often lower than its renewal rate, so look at what you’ll pay in year three, not month one.
Where each one leads
Counted from my ratings in the table above.
Hostinger Website Builder leads on performance.
Squarespace leads on design freedom and e-commerce.
Best fit for Hostinger Website Builder: side businesses and early tests on a tight budget. Best fit for Squarespace: creatives, studios and small brands that want a good-looking site quickly.
Switching between them
There’s no direct import between them. Moving from Hostinger to Squarespace means picking a template, recreating pages and rewriting the AI copy while you’re at it. Squarespace can export some pages, galleries and one blog in WordPress format, but there’s no importer for Hostinger’s builder, so that direction is manual too. Map old URLs with 301 redirects on whichever platform you land on.

As a starting point, yes. Treat the generated text as a draft. Rewriting it in your own voice, with real details about your business, is what makes it useful to visitors and search engines.

They’re roughly level on SEO control. Hostinger Website Builder: Meta fields and sitemaps; few advanced settings. Squarespace: Good defaults and editable titles, descriptions and redirects; less advanced control.
Hostinger Website Builder (partial): Pages, text, images and files can be exported to WordPress; styles, layout, the store, forms and SEO settings can’t. Squarespace (partial): Some pages, galleries and one blog export in WordPress format, and products export separately as CSV. Layouts, styling and code don’t.
